Deep in every person’s heart are the questions, what is the purpose of life? Who created me? What is going to happen to me after I die? Is there a God? Friends there is GOOD NEWS. The Bible says in John 3:16-17 says “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whosoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.” You might be thinking why did he give his only Son? Who is his Son? What does eternal life mean? To save the world from what? Friends history is filled with HIS-STORY. God created the whole world in the beginning and He also created mankind in his own image. You did not evolve from bacteria or animals you were created. When he created man he instructed them to eat off whatever tree they liked except one tree. The serpent or deceiver, Satan, then came and deceived the first people God created Adam and Eve to go against God’s command and they were deceived. Because of that act of disobedience, the relationship mankind had with God was separated. Sin (turning away from God and disobeying the teachings and commandments of God) then dominated man. As generations went by people kept disobeying God their creator and choosing to do as they pleased. God however never gave up on man even though man worshiped other gods that they created. God’s love drove him to send his ONLY son Jesus Christ into the world to save the world and undo the disobedience of the first man. Jesus became man through a divine intervention; the creator became part of his creation to save it from what destroyed it. Sin had to be paid for. Jesus gave his life for all mankind to save us from the wages of sin, which was death. Although he was sinless and innocent he took man’s place and exchanged his life for all man who would believe in him. Jesus himself said in John 14:6 “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me”. The only way the man’s relationship can be restored with God is through Jesus Christ. The Good News is that you don’t need to work to restore a relationship with the creator. You don’t have to do religious ceremonies and follow religious customs for God to forgive you for your disobedience. You cannot buy this restoration and you cannot earn it. It is a gift that was fully paid through Jesus’ death on the cross. He made a way for all humanity. There is HOPE. The only requirement for you to receive this awesome gift is for you to believe and receive. You don’t need to change your ways before you come to your heavenly father. He wants you to come to him as you are. Jesus came not to condemn you, but rather to set you free from all your bondages and give you rest from weariness. Friends Jesus assures everyone who believes in him to have eternal life, so death is not the end. The meaning, purpose and emptiness of life can only be found in Jesus Christ. It is the best news that you will ever hear. Will you accept and believe this good news? Simply pray the following prayer and receive SALVATION (spiritual rescue from sin and death)!
Prayer: Jesus I accept your finished work on the cross. I know that I am a sinner, a person who disobeyed your ways and did it my own way. Today I ask you to be my Lord and Saviour and rescue me from the penalty of sin. I believe that you died for me to set me free and I want to follow you from this day forward. I give you my heart and life and I completely surrender to you. I thank you for forgiving me and giving me eternal life. Thank you for loving me and never giving up on me. I love you Jesus. Amen!

“Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The Spirit is willing, but the body is weak.” (Matthew 26:41)
There is a profound mystery that our Lord Jesus Christ reveals to us in his word.
We as Christians often wonder why we struggle to pray read Gods word and be in his will.
Our Lord reveals to us that the Spirit is always willing to pray and be in intimate communication with the father but the problem however lies in the body (flesh). There is a constant struggle between our flesh and Spirit to have dominion in the actions we take, the words we speak and the thoughts we filter and process in our minds. The spirit always desires and seeks for the will of God to be done; the body however wants to be pleased by its own desires and pleasures. The flesh will not agree with the Spirit so we then have to be led by the Spirit or the flesh, they cannot work in harmony. Those who are led by the Spirit are always in the will of the father.
It is when we engage in prayer that the desires and cravings of the flesh are killed. Jesus was fully human and yet remained sinless. It is because Jesus was a man of prayer that he was able to be in the will of God at all times and didn’t fall into temptation. No matter what temptations the devil tried to get Jesus with, he was unsuccessful because Jesus prayed. The prayers of a righteous man are powerful and effective.
This is why the devil keeps us busy with other things that feed the flesh and then we are too tired to pray and read the word of God. We work or go to school for the majority of the day so that we can supply the needs of the flesh, we come home eat and drink so the flesh can get what it needs, then we watch our favourite TV shows so we can entertain the desires of the flesh, we catch up with our favourite friends and spend time with our family so our flesh can have communion with other flesh to talk about more fleshly stuff and when we are about to sleep we open our Bibles. We begin to yawn and feel sleepy. Our Spirit wants to but our body is weak because it is carrying a big load. The enemy has done his job effectively and is happy to have a Christian who always falls into temptation. He keeps giving us candy and we accept with a smile. The devil knows that the Christian carries nuclear weapons to destroy his work through prayer, so he expertly distracts us from using our demolition power weapons.
Let us be weary of the enemies schemes and make time with God. Let us put aside what the flesh always wants and be believers who pray. Let us stop settling for the ordinary and strive to live that extraordinary life. It is prayer that God reveals to us his will, his plans, his word, and helps us to crucify the flesh. Our merciful Lord will teach us how to pray if we don’t know how, just ask him like the disciples did.
