Live out your Kingdom Business…
There is something you know you are meant to be doing and it’s not about the chores or school work you are procrastinating from. It’s about something bigger, that thing that stirs inside of you constantly, the thing you know you are really meant to be doing.
In Matthew 5 Jesus pulls aside the people who had any hope of grasping what he was talking about and he set out a whole bunch of revolutionary (and paradoxical) new rules for living. He labeled it all as “kingdom business”. Jesus was setting up a counter culture, a group of people who followed a different set of rules, a set of rules that at its core was to follow him wholeheartedly.
At the end of Matthew 5 Jesus gives a cliff note summary:
Grow up. You’re kingdom subjects. Now live like it. Live out your God-created identity. Live generously and graciously toward others, the way God lives toward you.
God has a purpose for each of us in his kingdom. It starts with living for him. Ask yourself, what can I do right now that would be serving Jesus as king?
